StoneWork

Working with stone is one of Mans ancient skills stretching back thousands of years across the globe.

All aspects of natural stonework undertaken.

Dry Stone Walling & Facing

Dry stone walling is the construction of free standing  walls with no mortar. They stand through a combination of good foundation, correct construction method and friction. They are an intrinsic part of the british countryside, used by farmers and landowners as boundary walls.

We offer repair or rebuilding of exisiting walls as well as bespoke new build projects.

Dry-stone facing is similar to freestanding walls but retain soil on a bank or terrace. They are an important part of hedge-banks in the south west of England and can make sloping ground in a garden into usable flat space through terracing.

Local stone is used where possible to retain landscape character. In contemporary gardens, many types of stone can be brought in through good connections with quarries and stone merchants.

Mortared Natural Stone Walling

We offer lime or cement mortared walling. New Walls, re-pointing and repair. Stone faced block work is a practical solution  where drystone construction is not adequate or suitable. This can be hidden  mortar which looks dry or pointed joints.

Gabian Cages

Wire baskets filled  with faced stonework create excellent commercial or domestic retaining walls. Available in a range of size and gauge steel.  A contemporary and structural solution for retaining large quantities of material and preventing erosion. Can be incorporated into garden landscaping for a modern aesthetic.

Cobblestoning

Hard standing surfaces created by setting stones into the ground either into earth or a mortar bed. Restoration of old cobbles or construction of new. Many areas of cobblestones have been covered in concrete. We are able to uncover and restore to full glory.
